Types of string?

Hey. I have a lot of string at home, but in my experience, itโs been kind of about luck which string is good and which is kind of cheap. Do you know a specific brand or place where I can get good quality skeins?

@chocochip you can get embroidery floss from pretty much any craft store, or places like Walmart. I like to use DMC and I get it from Micheals. Here are some of the pros and cons of DMC:Pros: *It's nice and shiny! *Seems to be high quality *Comes in hundreds of colors *Although I have never had it break on me, it doesn't seem likely to break with ease Cons: *DMC is expensive $0.56 USD for the regular skeins, even more for Coloris, Color Variations, Pearl Cotton and Pearl Cotton Color Variations *The regular embroidery floss frays easily *Pearl Cotton comes in fewer colors than the regular six strand embroidery floss (I think) Those are just some of the things I can think of off the top of my head. I haven't used DMC for that long, but I really do like it. Although the price is a little much, I've been using gift cards to buy all my strings. I've also worked with J & P Coats embroidery floss. Although it's not shiny like DMC, it's nice string and I found a 100 pack at Walmart. There may have been more in the pack, but it's been so long since I bought them. There are other brands of floss that I've heard of like Prism, Iris, and Anchor, but I've never tried them before so I have no clue what there are like. Sorry for such a long message. I donโt what brand there is on amazon but I found a pack of 50 for like $5 there and it was pretty good

I wouldnโt normally use string I use embroidery thread and it works really good. I bought mine of amazon for ยฃ8.00 including shipping.

My favourite brands to work with are DMC, and Anchor. Anchor (in my opinion) is softer on the skin when you are working with it, and also it's cheaper than DMC. The both brands have vibrant colours, but DMC has more of a variety and their variation thread is much nicer than Anchor's. ๐
