How do i start a bookmark pattern that's flat on top with no tassels? sorry if that's confusing

I want to make a bookmark and its not a big deal but I would like to learn how to do this and I cant find it on YouTube. helpppppp

idk how to explain it well or if this is what you are looking for but i will give it a shot. cut double length base strings ( 1 string for every 2 base strings needed because they will be folded) and if you have an odd number then just round up to the next number (you can use this extra string as your leading/knotting string if you would like). lay out one base string horizontally (this will make the 2 outer base strings) then do larks head knots (slip knots i guess) to attach your other base strings in the center of the horizontal string. then you can fold down the horizontal string on each side and you should have a clean start with all of your base strings coming from it. now you can begin your bracelet as normal (if you have an extra base string you can just join two of your base strings together on either edge of your bracelet, and knot on both as if it were one string.) hope this helps, let me know if you need clarification on anything in particular!

omg sorry this is so late, im starting a bookmark rn and i thought about your question lol. another tip i have is to start the bookmark on a drinking glass, so you can do the loops wayyy more easy than on a flat table, so lay one base string over the drinking glass and tape it on the sides, then do the lark heads knots and switch to a table. hope this helps lol
