Recommendations for decently thick embroidery thread?

Hello,

I’ve found that the thread I’m using is a bit too thin, the knots are a little too small and it’s unsatisfactory. Every picture of others’ bracelets I see look super nice and plump… so, what are your recommendations for thicker thread or how to make my bracelets look better without strangling the knots to death?

Thanks!

I think most embroidery floss has about the same thickness. As long as you are using regular embroidery floss, there shouldn't be any issues with thickness.

It would be useful to know which material you are using to know if it's actually thinner than what most people use. It would also be useful to see a picture of a finished bracelet. I personally don't think that in a picture the size of the knots is really visible because you don't really have something to compare it too, so I'm wondering what let to you conclusion that the knots are smaller.

You could also try make your knots looser, which will give them a more “plump” looking effect.

Embroidery floss should be fine, but if you want a little more bulk you could switch to a thin kind of yarn. I'm not sure of the exact sizes but sock yarn works pretty well in my experience. You get a wider bracelet with the same amount of strings!
