Does anyone use thin crochet thread for bass strings for alphas and is it better than using regular embroidery thread?

@Karis07 Yes! I do it is less expensive and won't break in the middle because most of them time it is thicker I also like how it makes my knots look

I use it for wall hangings but not for bracelets. It feels a little too chunky on the wrist to me but it works really well.

same. what @Margaron said. i have size 3 which ill only use for wallhangings. but size 5 is a nice bracelet thickness. it actually is lowkey better than embroidery floss because then the ties aren’t rly thick because sometimes they don’t fit thru the loop. i used size ten and then doubled the base strings because size 10 comes in rly big rolls

i do! i haven’t finished an alpha yet but i’m about halfway through one and it’s working really great! i actually find it works better than when i tried on norit’s way cheaper and doesn’t waste your colours 🙂 i use 4ply crochet cotton, i tried 3ply and found it was a tiny bit too thin, even 5ply might be better but haven’t tried it x

i like to use size 10 thread and double it up! i really like using it because it makes the knots neater

Yes because it's cheaper. I don't use it to make knots with it since it's a bit thicker than normal embroidery floss.
