Has anyone made a ukulele strap? It would need to be fairly long so would it be better to do a normal pattern or alpha? Trying to look for tutorials on YouTube as well and haven’t found anything yet.

A normal bracelet would be quicker and more stronger than an alpha. You would not have to cut your strings super long because you could replace the strings when they get too short.

Definitely do a normal that’s at least 16 strings wide to make it stronger, and I would just take a whole skein, fold it in half, and use that to make 2 strings. You can always roll up the ends on a bobbin or something.

I'd reccomend something a lil' unorhtodox- a normal pattern knotted in medium weight yarn : )
with 5 weight yarn, you can make a 6 string bracelet that's the width of an 8 string bracelet, so there's less knots involved while still having the nice pattern and strength of a normal pattern. You get less repetitions of the pattern for the same length of bracelet, but your strings will end up taking less of the total out of your skeins and will create a thicker and even more durable strap!
