Adjustable length bracelet?

I often encounter the problem when making a bracelet for someone else where i accidentally make it the wrong length at first, and then i have to fix it. But this could be bad if i want to make a bracelet for someone i don't see very often, or if i like, wanted to sell them to customers i might never meet in person. so is there any way to finish the bracelet in a way that makes it so someone could put it on and take it off fairly easily, but doesn't have to be just the right size to work?currently, i just tie a large knot at the end, so it can be pushed through the loop at the beginning to secure the bracelet. but then if it's too tight, it's impossible to wear, and if it's too loose then it's just kind of annoying. you get no leeway, so it's not ideal. relatedly: in other people's photos i often see bracelets with two braided strands at the end, is that my solution? and if so, how are you supposed to put on a bracelet like that exactly? do you just put one of the braids though the loop and tie them? that sounds like it would be hard to do yourself, though. |

I would suggest started your bracelets with a loop (doesn’t have to be fancy, but if you want a fancier one there are tons of tutorials on the site), and ending with braids, twists, etc. You are exactly right in assuming that you would put one of the ties though the loop and then tie it to the other one. This is the style that I typically like to do and can put it on by myself without too much difficulty, but it took just a bit of practice.

Alternatively you can make an adjustable knot/sliding bracket ends, there are also tutorials out there for this as well. This style is more advanced, but might be easier if you have an odd number of strings in your bracelet where it’s more difficult to make a loop. —hope this helps, happy knotting! Please reach out/at me if this is still confusing. 🙂

Well the braid thing is not that hard to put on so that is what i do. You can also ask for help if you have it. ❤️

I would always knot a bracelet so that it would fit a small wrist well and at the same time make the ties long enough so it can be tied around a big wrist as well.If you have a store and offer custom bracelets, you could also offer customers custom length. Just make them measure their own wrist and pick accordingly. |
