Hey!I’m trying to make #123643 but I’m unsure how long to cut the strings. Does anyone have an idea on how long I should cut the base and main (the light green and rainbow background ones) strings? Thank you! |

Hi!!With small patterns like the one you mentioned, I like to make the base strings at least long enough to comfortable knot with (i.e. not to short that it makes knotting on to it with the strings that are seen/make the actual pattern), but I typically do a bit longer since I like to tie off my alphas with the base strings to hold everything together. As for the string making up the pattern (i.e. the rainbow and the frog), I usually take the skein or bobbin of the color and secure it with a mini hair tie to make sure I don't run out of string or waste any if I cut them too long. However, if you aren't comfortable knotting with a bulky bundle or bobbin (it can be a bit annoying), I would suggest using strings that are about 3 feet/36inches/91cm for the frog color, 2 feet/24inches/61cm for the rainow and white strings, and you can use 1 foot/12inches/30cm for the colors that have fewer than 1 row of knots to reduce waste, but still not too short to have a hard time knotting with. I hope this helps, but if any of this sounds confusing or you want some clarification please at me or dm 🙂. -Happy Knotting 🙂 |
