So I have seen people making this pattern with a loop but I can’t figure out how to do it. I’ve done bracelets that require you to do the technique Masha Knots has a video on but I don’t see how it would work for a multicolored string. I’ve thought about using a fabric glue on the back but I don’t know if it will cause the colors to bleed because the string I’m wanting to use a string that was hand dyed. I would really appreciate any help y’all! Thanks!

This might not make any sense cause it’s kind of complicated to explain in words, but basically cut the multicolor string slightly longer than you normally would and then use it to make a larks head knot on the loop of the other strings, but instead of folding the multicolor string in half to make a larks head knot, only leave a little on one side and then start making the loop with the long side. As you start knotting the pattern, include the short strand with the other strings you’re making knots with so that it gets knotted in. Once you’ve done a few knots, you can stop including it and then cut it off the back once you’re done with the bracelet. I’m pretty sure I made this technique up, so I don’t think there are any tutorials on it, but let me know if you have any more questions

You can also just use the multicolour string for the third string in the pattern as well. It won't be visible because you only make knots onto the third string and not with it. This way you wouldn't have to use any tricks.

no problem! halokiwi’s method is probably easier (I didn’t think about that), but you could always still use my technique for patterns where that wouldn’t work

@halokiwi, you do make knots with the third string in #25897?

@sage-wolf you only make knots onto it, but not with it. That means the string doesn't show in the pattern and you can pick any color you like

@halokiwi the third string overall or the third a string? If you mean the a string then yes, but the third string overall is the b string which makes like half the white knots

@sage-wolf oh, you're right. I mean the fourth string. Idk why I said the third 😅
