Hi, I made #111499 and while making the cake part I figured something out which fixes the problem of the old leading string peaking through the corner of the knot of the new leading string. I will make a tutorial but I thought I would share it here in the forum. Basically on forward rows in an alpha you start like you start a normal flat alpha colour switch, making half of a forward knot with the new leading string. Then you take the old string and make half of a upside down forward knot onto the same base string as the new leading string (this is instead of placing it across the inside of your new leading string). Then you pull tight and put the string away and finish your forward knot with the new leading string. On backward rows in an alpha you start like you start a normal flat alpha colour switch, making half of a backward knot with the new leading string. Then you take the old string and make half of a upside down backward knot onto the same base string as the new leading string (this is instead of placing it across the inside of your new leading string). Then you pull tight and put the string away and finish your backward knot with the new leading string. Also my bracelet was still a little bumpy but I have always have that issue in bracelet where I combined different brands and string sizes (which I did in this bracelet). In the parts of the bracelet where I used the same brand I had no bumps and overall the bracelet was to my satisfaction. I figured this out on my own but perhaps someone else has previously tried this. Feel free to ask questions (a tutorial will come out on my instagram story/highlights soon). |
