When using the straight edges technique (bf and fb knots at the edges), you need to make two bf or fb knots right after each other, because you replace both the first and last knot of each row.The flat alpha technique is just how you do the colour switches. It does not affect the edges. In the video MashaKnots also explains the straight edges technique, so it can be a little confusing what is which technique. The flat alpha technique does not affect the edges. You just have to make sure that if the last knot of a row is a different colour, you can't do the flat alpha technique like described in the video, because the previous leading string will stick out at the edge. |
