Hey I have some sparkly thread from DMC. But when I tried to use it the knots became too thick. I’m thinking I need to split the thread to make it thinner, but don’t know how many threads I should use?

You could do a trial round of knots by subtracting 1 strand at a time. And then match these again your usual knots to get an idea of the size.
