Hello, Hello! I am pretty good with other patterns like diamonds and some of the "tribal" ones, but chevrons are my worst enemy! I am making one right now, and my right side is fine, but the left side is kind of "stretched" up, so it isn't symmetrical. are my knots inconsistent? |

That could possibly be the issue! Try exerting the same knotting force on both sides to see if it helps!

If you think your knots are fairly consistent already pay attention to your very first row. Make sure your knots position wise are fairly even as that can make even an even knotter’s chevrons look a little skewed.

I definitely think that part of the reason is that you're not tying them tight enough on both sides of the pattern. Also, if you're doing a loop at a beginning, maybe the loop is leaning a little bit to the other side. Just a few things I've come across when doing a symmetrical pattern like a chevron.

make sure all your knots are the same amount of tightness (not sure if tightness is a word) if your knots on the left are loose and the ones on the right are tight it will look wonky. I recommend making them all tight so it will be easy to make them all look the same

I have exactly the same problem. I tried tying them with an equal amouth of force but it still did not change. My problem is probably that i can't hold my string as tight when making a forward not because i'm lefthanded (if you are righthanded the problem should be the otherway around i guess). This makes that my forwardbknots won't be as tight as my backwards knots even when i try to ty them evenly.
