I've been trying and trying but I cannot get my knots to look neat. Either they are too loose or too tight, they cause the bracelet to become a shaped bracelet when I don't want it to, or the knots look really bumpy compared to the others 😤 ! If you have any tips to help me, please comment them below!!! ❤️

I think the number one advice I can give is: practice!I also recommend to really pay attention to how you knot to get them more consistent. Make sure you pull the first half of the knot tight before making the second half. |

how should I tie off alpha bracelets and normal ones? 🤔also, how can you make the cool little loop at the top of bracelets when you start them? I mean like in pictures that I see of the full bracelet and the loop it is NOT all over the place. I have a bracelet business, so cleanness is very important to me. 😄 |

For loops and ending bracelets i would recommend this YouTube playlist. The videos are very straightforward and I have learnt from them too 🙂 https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLDYMT0RS-CCBNybs3gO_tindmNc4KNstS |

So do you basically knot the first half tight but the second one loose?

A couple things helped me with neatness. While a major component is practicing and making sure you are consistent with your tension (whether tight or loose), there are other things you can change. First is the string type, some strings are more likely to appear neater. For me, I've sorta switched from DMC to Loops and Threads. My reason is, DMC tends to be softer and the threads lie more flat but they also can twist on themselves and be inconsistent. With Loops and Threads, the thread is more cylindrical and holds a nice puffed up knot (if you will). I also recommend you try not to mix brands as much as possible. For Alphas, I have taken a completely different change that has really helped them look neater. For my alphas, I use crochet thread size 3. It's the thicker variety. I also solely use Amazon threads for my alphas. They are very cylindrical and 3D and keep my knots super tidy. I swear by these threads and whenever I don't use them, my knots are far less neat. You will see them used a lot on my profile to give you a sense of the neatness. My last tip is to work slowly. I know we always like to get to the finish line and show off our beautiful work, but working more meticulously really helps with your knots. This means being careful and attentive and it also helps you really enjoy the bracelet making experience. This technique isn't for everyone but it certainly has helped me. I can tell the difference in a more rushed bracelet vs one I spent lots of time on. I hope this helps! I can send you links to the threads and such (they are very inexpensive)! - Butter |
