I am new to the site and already make bracelets pretty well. This is my first time hearing about alpha bracelet making and I am confused on how to read them. Do I always go right to left? Thank you!

I suggest watching YouTube videos for a proper explanation. They will help a lot 😊

Making an alpha bracelet is a bit harder than making a normal bracelet just because it is a different technique. But if you really think about it, they're not that different at all When you're making an alpha pattern the direction that you start isn't really that important. You can start from right to left, or left to right, it doesn't really matter, you end up going both ways throughout the pattern. Most people do start from left to right so if it is your first time, I would suggest that you start from left to right. When you're making an alpha pattern from left to right, you want to start with the knot on the left most side, and then from there you just keep reading along the same row making forward knots. When you get to the end of the row you're going to want to make a forward and a backward knot on your last knot, and then do a backward and a forward knot on the same knot and then start to do the next row but this time doing backward knots. When you get to the end you're going to want to do a backward forward knot on the last knot, and then a forward backward knot on the same knot, and then you just repeat the process again and again until you reach the end of your bracelet. I hope that this helped you. If you have any more questions about anything, feel free to message me, and I will do my best to help you 🙂

hello! I'm so excited that you are starting alphas!! They are such fun crafts and so rewarding to finish.I recommend when starting alphas to watch Masha Knots's FLAT ALPHA tutorial on YouTube. This is suuuduuper helpful, and I learned to make alphas this way. Also, make sure to not tie your knots too tight with alphas, push the knots up your bracelet with a ruler, and practice practice practice making them. Hope this helps! I will link the Masha Knots tutorial below. ❤️ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_YVFAX9sacw |

for a very first alpha, id recommend a basic text patter bc there's only 2 colors and not a lot of base strings- one of my first ones was #6238 without the border : )
