So i was wondering how do i know how much i need to cut my base strings for alpha keychains/bookmarks/wall hangings ect.. Cause most of the time they are too long/short <3

Since you don't make any knots with them, they need to be the length of the bracelet/whatever you are making + some more for loops or ties or anything like that.

If you take an alpha you have already made, you can measure how long a certain amount of rows is for you. Based on that you can calculate how long a certain pattern will be for you. If you want to make a bracelet, you would of course that the circumference of your wrist as the length. This length plus some extra for ties etc. is the length you'll need.

I find that 30 in is great for most alphas and wall hangings

One way to measure the length of your base strings to be cut is to measure how many rows you knot per centimeter/inch. If you are making a loop or attaching the base strings to a keychain with a lark's head knot, double that length but remember to cut half as many strings. Also, make sure to add 10 cm/5 in of excess, so you can have a grip on the bracelet when knotting. hope this helps! ❤️

I am trying to make my first alpha and it is so hard to do it. The instructions won't fit in the page and it says something about it being 50 LINES 🤯 😭 . I am doing this for school and it has to be done by at least January 10. Can you please help me?
