I have some kind of weird mental block against figuring out how to do shaped edges when it's not super straightforward (like the diamond snowflake one in MashaKnots' tutorial). I do a lot of patterns with holes in them, and when it gets complicated, I can't wrap my head around how to do the shaped edges. In particular, I'm trying to do pattern #48151 right now (the blue-to-green gradient if that matters), and I'm one row in and already losing my mind! Any tips or tutorials for more complicated patterns?

hello! as the creator of the pattern, i would say that probably the best way to knot that pattern would be to just leave the strings loose. instead of using the triangle starts/ends technique that masha explains in her shaped bracelet tutorial, you would just follow the pattern normally, being super cognizant of knot tension as that can be difficult when you make a knot that isn't directly against another knot situated above it. hope that helps! 🙂
