What is the flat alpha technique????

I have tried looking it up on google but nothing came up. Can someone fill me in on what the heck a flat alpha technique is please?

A flat alpha is when you knot in the base strings into the knot, so the string you want to knot with it just going under the pattern. This gives the alpha a more flat look and parts of the alpha aren’t bulging out. Masha knots has a great tutorial on YouTube |

I’m sorry I accidentally said base string I meant the string you were knotting with before, (the previous leading string)
