Hi I was just wondering how long you guys make your thread for normal patterns? I stopped making bracelets for awhile so I forgot how long I would make mine. The pattern itself on my bracelet is 6 inches but with the loop and ties I usually like it to be around 9-10

I usually make my strings a wingspans length (the length from your fingertip on one one hand to the length of your fingertip on the other hand)/half a wingspans length if I’m not making a loop. Depending on the pattern though, I may have to add extra string or I’ll end up with too much

I used to measure by fingertip like oceanknot but when I started to make bigger bracelets I would not have enough to make my ties at the end so now I have to measure 80in and it works really well for me

If you have multiple strings of one colour I would say do from the tip of your fingers to the tip of the opposite finger (wingspan) and then fold it in half. Otherwise I make each individual string from the tip of my finger to the middle of my chest and if the bracelet is a thicker one do a bit extra

I usually do something like the tip of my fingers to the middle of my chest, but it’s good to be conscious of your pattern when measuring certain colors! Border colors I usually do around wing span, though a lot of ppl here seem to say that they do wingspan and that’s prolly good just to b safe haha

A good way to measure is by doing it wing span length🙂, that's is when you put up your hand up side by side having your string in one then measure it up to your shoulder maybe a bit more just in case if your strings get short and wallah or 1 meter.

I honestly just use 60 in you have plenty left over but you then don’t need to feel like it’ll end to short as well

I am trying to make my first alpha and it is so hard to do it. The instructions won't fit in the page and it says something about it being 50 LINES 🤯 😭 . I am doing this for school and it has to be done by at least January 10. Can you please help me?

i stick to 36 inches of floss for a 6 inch or less bracelet, and it has seemed to give me enough to tie off on both ends. if you want a loop, double it (72 in) God bless!
