I found out that I do my knots weird instead of pulling my sting up through the loop I pull down through the loop. Is there anything I can/should do diffrently? Also does anyone else have this problem?

Basically this means you are doing your knots upside down which is completely fine.For some normal patterns it can have a really cool effect but for some it can also turn out to look a little messy. For alphas I think both regular and upside-down knots look cool in any pattern. I noticed that my upside down knots are not as smooth as my regular knots, but that might be because I don't practice them that much, but in theory they should be alright to do, because they are basically macrame knots. I would say there are no special rules applying to upside down knots - only the advice that's given for regular knots too: pull the first half tight before making the second, try to have consistent tightness, use string of the same thickness and most important: practice, practice, practice! |
