I have a lot of UV resin and I don't have nail polish so I was wondering if I could I use UV resin instead of nail polish for my square knots, before I do crimp ends, or anything else that people use nail polish in their bracelets for?? And if you use UV resin or something else instead of nail polish what is it like? For people who have used nail polish I have some questions too.. Is it uncomfortable or spikey? If it is, can you like sandpaper it or something to make it smoother or more comfortable? Does it stay glued well? Also for crimp ends, is it secure and do you need to glue it sometimes? (I'm thinking about getting them) Thanks! :] |

I find nail polish to be stabby on the back side of bracelets, but I've never had a knot come undone on the back of an alpha even when clipped all the way short so i don't use anything anymore. As for at the end before applying crimps, I also don't use anything. I just cut along the same row of knots and then crimp the end on tight a couple rows up. I've never needed to seal it first. I don't see why UV resin wouldn't work though. The other thing I have done is paint the back of a bracelet with outdoor mod podge. The water resistant kind. It makes the back sorta grippy and prevents bracelets that are prone to curling from curling, but you have to re-apply it after a few months if you wear the bracelet and get it wet a lot. |

I used UV resin on my first keychain and on one of my first bracelets before I got cheap dollar store top coat. In my experience, resin gets very hard and pokey and likes to stab you.
