Hi! I have long fine hair, and I swim which causes it to be brittle, and I keep finding hairs tied into my bracelet. How do I change this? Or am I forever stuck pulling them out w tweezers from my bracelets?

I have short hair and it happens to me too. I think it is completely normal. The cat owners among us have it even worse. 😹

I got tired of pulling them out and having them snap or get stuck so I got a pair of small scissors for trimming beards, and now I just snip off the visible parts of the hair whenever I see them. It's satisfying.

When people bake/do sports it is advised to wear your hair up (like in braids/ponytail/buns) because that way your hair is more out of your way likewise doing so can help prevent your hair from ending up in your bracelets. Even just using a head band to keep your hair out of your face can help sometimes.

My hair is long to and curly, so when I'm knotting I try to keep my hair up. I also try to remove any hair around where I'm knotting. Although no matter what I do I will always have dog fur in my bracelets. My hair is also kind of brittle but what helps me is I leave a little conditioner in my hair I try to leave 15% of the conditioner |

I suggest cleaning your workspace before knotting. I have long, fine hair and a cat, so there's a lot of hair sometimes. I avoid making bracelets on my bed (where I can't see if there is hair) and only make bracelets at my desk where my cat isn't allowed and I know my hair isn't everywhere. The only way hair gets into the bracelet is if the string touches the floor so watch out for that.

I would just suggest that you put your hair up and make sure that no hair is in the area that you are about to knot. 🙂

I have that problem too. I just have to put my hair in a tight bun with a headband. I look weird, but it works for me.

I also swim and have long hair and found this a recurring issue when I safety pinned my bracelet to my beanbag and continuously found hair knitted into it.

I have a cat, a beautiful long-hairs Maine coon who loves to help me 😂 I can’t seem to escape the hair in my bracelets! Instead of plucking the hairs I hold them secure with tweezers and cut as close as possible with a scalpel (I’m an esthetician and I have them for dermaplaning. I prefer them because they are sharper than standard razor blades. You can buy them on Amazon if you search dermaplaning. Just don’t get the razor type, I’d recommend either a handle and separate blades or fully disposable 10 blade scalpels. Obviously you must be SUPER careful, they will it through your skin before you even notice!))

Oh, my god, the cat hair. It’s awful. As for actual advice, if your hair is too short to tie up, I would say get an elastic headband which should help at least a little
