Need HELP with this alpha bracelet

I’m doing an alpha that starts with 5 different color changes in the first row. But once I started doing the other rows the different colored knots in each row weren’t connecting to each other anymore. So I think I’m probably doing something wrong. do the flat alpha technique. masha knots tutorial is really good and ik alex’s innovation has one. u put the leading string thru the different color that u want to change into, makin them all connect

You’re not doing anything wrong, that’s just what happens when there are vertical stripes in an alpha pattern. Like the person above me said, you can prevent it by using the flat alpha technique.
