random new colors in a line

I want to do a bracelet for my bf but I noticed that in one line it tells me to add a new color. I was so confused and I don't know how to do it. Plz help

@vsco-gurl If you’re making an alpha bracelet, that’s how those work. Just start tying knots with the new color and bring the other color you were previously working with behind the new color. You can look up a clearer explanation on how to do alpha bracelets on YouTube as well

When you get to the point that you need to add the new colour in, push your current knotting string to the back of your work and out of the way. Tie, tape or otherwise anchor your new string and pull it into the space you just pushed your knotting string out of and continue knotting as if it were your knotting string all along.
