Well I tried to do pattern #150 with straight edges technique, but when I tie a knot on an extra string (this which is supposed to make edges straight) it kinda ruins the shape of a heart. Any ideas??

I think you’d probably be fine making that pattern without using the straight edges technique, because the knotting structure of it is symmetrical.

If you don't want the heart to have a sharp corner you can replace the first knot of row 3,4 and 5 with bf and the last knot of these rows with fb. I mean the knots in the original pattern without the straight edge added yet.
