Best thread to use for Wall hangings?

I just created a wall hanging pattern #96125 and was starting on making the design but realized that this will be my first wall hanging that I've actually made. I was wondering what is the best thread to use for the pattern. I'm particularly interested in the best string to use for the base strings. I'm looking at bulk thread that I can buy that'll work with regular embroidery thread.

i’ve used size 3 crochet thread in those like giant bulk doo dad things for base strings. they worked fine

I use cotton thread from Catania. Where I live you can get them pretty cheap and they good quality as well. it is a wider thread, but it gives it a soft look in my opinion, and makes it bigger in size (which sometimes is a good thing for wallhanging i.m.o.)
