So I’m trying to make a keychain for someone and I would have to make a larks head knot but the strings divided by 2 is 43 how to I tie the 43rd string on

Are there 86 base strings in the pattern?

I think 86 base strings and even 43 are a bit big for a keychain.I assume this is about pattern #46377. That pattern would work better as a wall-hanging on a dowel. For a keychain you could use #78557 #60809 #60808 #60800 #46662. I personally wouldn't recommend going over 30 base strings for a keychain 🙂 You did the math right: 86 divided by 2 is 43 but you forgot that those are already your base strings of double length that are folded in half. Each of them can be attached using a larks head knot because they are folded in half. |

personally, I wouldn’t recommend making a keychain with >25 base strings (unless you make a shaped top?), but if you have an odd number, you can tie a slip knot/larks head knot using the color string you are knotting with first. that way, you will have the one base string you need, and the string you’re knotting with is already attached. I hope this makes sense!!
