Yes. For most of shaped bracelets that is the technique. Hope this helps! Happy knotting! -@stewon6969 |

There are two techniques for making shaped normal patterns:- The first technique is to just leave loose strings where you leave out knots. - The second technique is to hide all loose strings in the edge of the bracelet. The second technique is basically the same you'd use for triangle ends and you can do both a multi-colour and a single-colour edge. Pattern and Craft has a video on how you can do triangle end edges in a single colour: https://youtu.be/kLkcwaTUGv8 and here is a video where she makes a circle bracelet with a single coloured edge: https://youtu.be/2Ts4yKc6jIQ With both techniques you can leave out knots at the edge of the bracelet so the bracelet gets an edge that isn't straight but you can also leave out knots in the middle of the bracelet to get holes. Examples for shaped bracelets with holes can be seen in the following two videos by @Racoon: - starry night bracelet: https://youtu.be/4nNWLJacj4o - keyhole bracelet: https://youtu.be/Vx26vzbzlKI @Margaron has a video where she knots a shaped bracelet that has a more unusual shape. I think watching the video could be useful: https://youtu.be/A6BOvgFHQrY Besides shaped normal patterns you can also make shaped alphas: It's again basically the same technique you use for triangle ends and you can also use it to make holes in the bracelet. For shaped alphas I can recommend this video on shaped evil eye bracelets by @innovate: https://youtu.be/QVr1Nw_TFag or the shaped keychain tutorial by @clairehair: https://www.braceletbook.com/tutorials/130_shaped-keychain-tutorial/ Sorry for replying 🙂 I hope there was any new information for you in this. I'm not sure how experienced you are with shaped bracelets and what you already know. I tried to make it as detailed as possible. |
