My knots are always at a slight angle (alpha). When I tie forward knots, my knots point in one direction, when I tie backward knots, they point in the other direction. (Also seen in my pictures). Now I have seen some pictures where the knots are all straight - how do you do it? |

Here are some Youtube videos about clean back alphas that could be of interest for you:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NLCUwVXscG0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D1PikzUPDds https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sMunCyGlqQ0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qm7FdZO4c80 Besides that, there's the upside-down style, like the backside becomes the frontside. Here's a video about how it's done. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pEcqSy_ZVk4 I may add, I think that it's quite complicated the way it is done in the video. Personally, I just knot alphas the way everybody else does, with the tiny difference that I don't put the strings on the back but let them on the frontside. This way the backside stays clean. I'm still not sure which one I like better. Sometimes knots leaning to the sides can make some patterns look weird, but then, it makes corners softer. The upside-down style is like pixel art and edges sometimes can be a little, well, edgy. |

You should probably knot looser and so that you can manuvere your knots more easily and make them into a straight line in your alpha.Hope I was useful to you! Happy bracelet making! -@stewon6969 |
