adding more string to the bracelet

When Iโm trying to make an anklet, sometimes I run out of string to finish it. I try to add string on by tying knots, but then it look weird. Is there any techniques anyone uses to get the right amount of string or how to add string without it have knots?

Hold your new string in with the old one of the same colour- preferably a couple rows before you need to swap out so youโve done a few knots over it. Then drop the old string and continue with the new one. Trim the old string hanging out the back when youโre done! ๐
