for normals or for alphas? normals, sometimes the knot structure throws the bracelet off and it gets wonky. the straight edge technique keeps it from doin rhat but puttin an extra string on each side as sort of ig rails to keep them straight. the alpha version is to keep the edges from havin that sort of bumpy ridge on the side

It can be used for both normals and alphas and helps to keep the edge of the bracelet straight. Basically you do bf knots on the left edge and fb knots on the right edge.I've written a tutorial on it if you are curious for more information https://www.braceletbook.com/tutorials/101_the-straight-edges-technique/ |

for alphas just do backwards forward knot on the left side of your alpha, and on the right side do forwards backwards knots. hope that helps!
