What size crochet thread is best for base strings? Also can it be used for the leading string and in normals???

I use size 3 crotchet thread and I find it to work pretty well for base strings. You might be able to use it in normals and as your leading string as long as you only use the same thickness of thread for the whole bracelet (like don’t mix it with embroidery floss or another type of thread). I’ve never actually tried knotting with it though, so it might be a little bulky

It’s fine knotting a normal. But you have to use all crochet thread or it gets weird because of the thickness difference and the basic material. you can do normals but you have to pull pretty tight to make it even, but size 3 is pretty strong so i didn’t have one break

Both of the answers here are really good. I agree that if you wanted to use it in a normal you should make it all the same size. As for alphas I use it for my base stings which works well for me I think mine is a size 2 or 3 ; )

I personally use size 3 and it works well with embroidery thread.
