More strings than needed?

I am trying to learn the tear drop loop. I cut the exact number of strings the pattern calls for, but I always end up with more strings of a certain color than I need. Why is this and how can I fix it?

🤔 how many more strings are we talking? Like two or a large number? Remember whatever string you are using to wrap your loop should be included with the strings for your pattern.

I am working on a variation of pattern 25478 and the required number of strings is 16. I didn't know that the strings used to make the loop had to be included in the pattern. I only cut one of each string because folded in half I would get two of each string. Maybe the strings used to wrap the loop are the extra strings I keep having trouble with?Sounds like I'll have to start all over. Again. |
