Do you mean you accidentally cut off a base string while you were in the middle of making the alpha? If that’s the case, you can pull the remaining short part of the string up and behind the bracelet, tape the part that got cut off behind the bracelet, and the start knotting onto it as if it’s already part of the bracelet. I recommend keeping it taped down for at least 5-10 rows, because it’ll be easy for it to slip out due to that fact that you won’t be making any knots with it, just onto it

So how do I add a base string? Like a regular new color but on the place of the old string?

Yes, you just tape it down in place of the one who cut short and knot on to it like regular. I’ve never tried it personally, but I’ve heard that it works

You have to tape the new string to the back of the alpha. When you flip it over, you should be able to knot across it like it was the original string. Keep it taped down for a few rows so it can stay in the bracelet.

oh yes you can!! i had this problem forever ago, and i just taped it behind my bracelet and continued knotting! that’s what usually works for me. make sure to not un-tape it after you’ve re-attached it because you might pull it out and have a problem there.

to add the new base string, you would just tape it behind your bracelet, just like you would add a new leading string! just make sure to make the knots ONTO the new string you taped down. hope this helps! (:
