I just finished my second alpha (you can see the photo on #36348 ) and parts of it kinda curve in then back out. Any advice on how to keep knots consistently the same tightness?

The only way to do consistent knots is to practice and practice... Try loosening up the knots and don't pull too hard when colour switching. Take it slow and steady at first, and then try to go a bit faster every time you get used to it 😊

yeah what @aiden707 said. loosening up knots. and i’ve also find that finding kinda a rhythm when making rows helps find (personally for me) to keep the consistent

@BiggyChees The curviness could also be caused by the thickness of strings. Make sure they are all the same thickness, because if there is a knot in a row with a string that is too thick, that row will curve out, and with a thinner string it would curve in...Hope that makes sense😀 |

The curve is exactly where the colour change is very close to the edge. So maybe that's where your knotting technique requires more practice. Next time you could choose a pattern that has lots of colour changes close to the edges to get a little extra practice. 🙂
