Flower Chain String Management

I made my first Flower Chain bracelet (the new spring trend it seems) and it turned out much too short. I did some research and increased the length of the strings and I've started my second attempt. My problem is the strings are insanely long compared to standard normal bracelets I make and I'm struggling with them getting tangled constantly. For a simple style bracelet that shouldn't take very long to make the string length seems to be making it overly complicated and frustrating. Does anyone have any tips to help manage my string until it gets a bit shorter part way through the bracelet?

I would suggest to wrap some of it up, try not to tangle it though, so that you don’t have to drag a super long string every time you make a knot

It's only the green string that is really long. I'm not sure how to explain it but personally when I knot an alpha I usually move the base strings when making knots because they are shorter and tangle less. For this pattern I'd do the same. Don't try to pull the green string through every time you make a knot but pull the white or yellow through.

Thank you for the advice. I finished the bracelet and found it much easier to knot on a desk where the string could hang down as opposed to on a clipboard on my lap. I also had A LOT of extra white/yellow, so I overcompensated when I adjusted the lengths. I'll see where I get with attempt three and keep adjusting.
