i found a 96 pack of black and white- i use those constantly and it hasn't run out yet! https://www.amazon.com/Weoxpr-Premium-Embroidery-Friendship-Bracelets/dp/B07X5HX3XM/ref=mp_s_a_1_17?dchild=1&keywords=embroidery+floss+black+and+white+pack&qid=1612134939&sr=8-17 for the different thickness, try to use the same brand, but if it's unavoidable, make ur thicker strings as tight as possible and ur thinner ones a little looser. and i've never had that problem with dmc! segment knotting may help and try to make ur knots tighter. hope this helps!!
