how to tie ending strings to a dowel ?

i have no idea if this will make any sense, but yk how you start an alpha wall hanging on a dowel ? ok and then when you end the alpha, instead of making ties or something like that you add a dowel and it’s basically an alpha w two dowels. i saw someone on here that made one just like that and i was gonna ask the person how they made it that way, but i ended up forgetting and i never asked. so if anyone knows how to do this can you lmk how it’s done ?

you take the base strings, and then wrap them around the dowel at the end, to bring them to the back and then you glue them down
