I usually find that the length of your wingspan (from one finger to the other finger), you can search it up if you need a visual, works well. If you’re not folding your strings in half though, do half a wingspan. A full wingspan would be if you’re doing a loop/folding your strings in half. I wouldn’t worry too much about it though because if they’re too short, you can replace them and if they’re too long, you can use the scrap string in alphas.

NORMAL-Without loops- 1 meter With loops- 2 meters String that makes the loop- 2 meters 6 inches ALPHA- Base Strings- 1-2 meters (can be shorter, but I like to be safe) Leading strings- 1 arm span (I add more if I need it) |

For Normals, I always cut the string 2 meters if I'm doing a loop and 1 meter if I'm not doing a loopFor Alphas, each base string (no loop) is about 50 cm and with loop it is about 1 meter total. |
