You need more base strings like you usually need. Let's say you have 10 base strings. You always make knots onto two base strings at once except of when there is a single knot at the edge. You alternate which base strings you knot onto together in each row so that the typical structure is made. (2) (2) (2) (2) (2) - > first row (1) (2) (2) (2) (2) (1) - > second row To do this you can't use a regular alpha pattern. You need a pattern where the rows aren't straight beneath each other. |

If you search for kandi patterns you can definitely use those. Normal patterns might also work.
