I’m somewhat of a beginner, but I’m still learning. I’ve moved on from chevrons to wanting to make diamond patterns. I’ve made a couple of bracelets with the diamond shape in them, and they just don’t look right. Gaps between the knots keep showing up in the actual diamond part and it looks strange. Do I just need to keep practicing with my knot tension? Should I try to tie them more loose? I’ve seen many pictures of these types of patterns and they just look so neat and not wonky. Any help or suggestions? Thank you!

All of the people who make "perfect" that you see have been practicing for a long time. It sounds like you just need to focus on knot tension, which should be simple. Remember that the first half of the knot must be tight if you want the whole knot to be.

When knotting the /∖ part of the diamond make sure that you are not puling towards the outside of the bracelet too much.

Hi, what helps me is taking some extra string you’ve got and practicing knot tension by taping a bubble of string down and cut one of them longer, then use that one and do all 4 knots over and over again. You can also leave room for ties to get a cute bracelet!

It's really hard but pull it and loosen it if you want it to look perfect.
