Multi-Coloured Alpha Problem

So Iโve been having this issue with multi-coloured alpha patterns where if thereโs only one column of background colour on each side and a shape in the middle, the shape in the middle tends to bulge out. How do I fix this? Also sometimes the shape gets stretched vertically.

This is a bit confusing. Are you saying that as you are tying your strings they are folding and making a bump kind of thing? The only thing I could think of why that might be happening is you are making your strings loose and tight. That can often happen when you make one row super tight and then the next row looser and then the next tight. Just do your best to keep a steady hand, especially while changing colors.
