On average what length do you cut your strings ? I know it all depends on the bracelet size and number of strings. I’ve done some a metre but feels that’s to long plus the strings get tangled up as they are to long. Need to work out a good length. Thanks |

I cut my strings arms length or if I’m doing a loop I do a wingspan length for normals. For alphas I measure around my wrist and make it a bit longer for the ends.

Also a tip make the strings longer than you think! It is better to have extras than not enough

For Normals, I do a wingspan. If I am doing a loop then of course I will double that and add a few cm's for the ties at the end. If I do run out of string (which doesn't happen often) then I just do an estimate on how much more I think I would need, because adding extra string isn't all that bothersome to me. For Alpha's it's slighly different. I tend to do my wrist size again adding a little extra just incase, double that if I am doing a loop and then just add extra for ties (if I am doing a bracelet). Of course that changes depending on what I am making. If I am making a keychain, for example, the base strings will be much shorter. If I am doing a wall hanging, I tend to just estimate as to how much I would need, taking how many rows is in the pattern into consideration. |
