are your strings different brands? that could mean that one is thicker than the other and could be causing bumps.

This could be because the strings on the back of your alpha are tugging on each other. This is a really common issue with alphas that have a “picture”, which ends up being less flat. How you can fix this is by cutting the strings that are pulling on each other on the back of your alpha and pushing down on the alpha after, which should loosen things up. If you’re worried about your bracelet coming apart, you can secure it with glue, but I don’t think that it’s 100% necessary to add glue. If you want a visual demonstration, here’s a video that may be able to help you https://youtu.be/kUGJeYrBeLE
She starts explaining it at around the 17:20 minute mark

In the flat alpha video MashaKnots explains both the flat alpha technique (how to make colour switches in a way that the bracelet is not bumpy) and the straight edges technique (how to make the edges straight). I recommend rewatching the video and paying attention to how she does the colour switches.

I know lots of people are confused because this video teaches both techniques at once but they can be used independently.

I used to have a problem like this, if you’re using the straight edges technique and you’re alphas are still bumpy it may be because the strings are pulling across the design if this ever does happen then I just cute the strings going across (I hope that makes sense) it loosens up the bracelet. Masha knots did explain this in one of her knot with me videos
