I was making an alpha pattern and the base strings ran out😢 I know how to replace broken strings on Normal patterns but I don’t know how to do so on alpha patterns.I would redo it but it’s for my dad’s birthday which is too soon and I can’t make it in the time. Does anyone know how to extend the base strings of an alpha bracelet or if you could send a link to a YouTube video that would be amazing👍 Thank you😊! |

Fold the old base strings up behind the bracelet and tape some new ones at the bottom. Make some knots of onto the new ones and after a few rows tie the excess of the old and new strings together (one new base string to one old base string) so it doesn't unravel.

Like @DenyceC said, you can replace base strings by taping new base strings to your workspace and then knotting onto them as if they’re already part of the bracelet. If you’re able to, I recommend not replacing them all at once, because it will be a little more secure if you replace them one or two at a time. Also, I would keep the new base strings taped down as long as you can, because it’s really, really easy for replaced base strings to slip right out
