Shaped bracelet technique with large and small diamonds...my brain hurts!

I'm working on a shaped version of #50649, and I'm having trouble doing the "shaping" part as I transition out of the smaller diamond into the larger diamond. I can't figure out what order to tie which strings in to keep doing the shaping. My brain just won't work in reverse! 😂 Any tips or tutorials that might help me?

Hi! To do this, I would basically do forward-backward and backward-forward knots, pretty much the same thing as if you were to start and end the bracelet with triangle ends. Those were the tutorials I was using, but the problem with this pattern is that on the smaller diamonds, you're not using all of the strings, and I'm having trouble wrapping my head around how to tie those extra strings in, and at which point within the diamond to stop knotting the pattern and start knotting the outside shaping, so that all the strings end up in the correct order again. It's hard to explain without being able to post pictures. 😤

To be clearer: Each diamond in the pattern does not end in a point when doing the shaped technique; they sort of "imbed" into one another, so you're not just making diamonds in layers and then closing them in with the leftover outer strings.

The strings you are currently not using are basically all "hidden" in the edge of your diamonds no matter which size your diamonds have. So for the smaller diamond the two outer strings on each side are also in the edge of the diamond and you make knots around them.
