Hi all ! So whenever I make bracelets my strings get tangled. Even when I untangle them that results in having like frayed or thread that have knots on them. Any ideas to avoid tangled thread ?

Some people put them into bundles and wrap a bit of string around it so it doesn’t get tangled easily. If ur cutting ur strings before making ur bracelet it’s easier for them to tangle. I keep all my string on the bobbins so they don’t get tangled since there isn’t any loose string. You can also make sure to untangle or separate ur strings every couple rows so it doesn’t become a big knot

Hi! I would definitely try to organize your stings while working on the pattern. What I mean by that, is separating them from each other. Also, working on a table, using tape, would really be useful when trying to spread out your strings. I hope this helps! 😄

I keep extra long threads in bobbins and if I’m carrying the bracelet with me in a pocket or purse I loosely braid the extra string

What i do to untangle my string is something really easy and always seems to work for me!!

When untangling, grab only one string you want separated from the cluster of string and hold it at the base of it where the cluster starts, and pull on the string and that string only. No other one's. Don't try to push the cluster off the string either.

Unless you purposefully try to knot your strong by tightening it, the string itself usually doesn't want to get in a knot or a tangle. After you have all your string set up a certain way, like when you start your bracelet, then you shouldn't have to worry about the cluster getting to be so bad that you can't do anything about it.

If you keep doing this, eventually you're gonna get your strings untangled with little to no stress. If you pull on two strings at once tho, or don't do it like this, the strings will tighten and the cluster will form a knot, which really sucks to get undone. By pulling on only one string and holding the others steady, you're moving only that string away from the others, it'll find its way out by itself, you just have to give it the umph to do so 🙂

this technique has never failed me, so I hope it helps!!

I divide the threads on different kind of round pieces my boyfriend has design and print with a 3d printer, they are so cute and personal, as he makes different designs with things that I like such as, animals, Tv show characters and so on. If you want to see them I recently posted a photo which shows them 👍

If i have to stop working on my pattern for a while, I’ll tie a loose slip knot with all if the strings that keeps the strings in placed and doesn’t tangle them. I only do that for normals tho

I would definitely recommend winding your thread on bobbins. It makes everything so much easier!

I always run my fingers through them after every cluster of knots 🙂

I've heard if you rub a little bit of Vaseline or something similar at the bottom of the threads, like 1/3 or 1/4 of the tips they aren't really supposed to tangle as much. Not sure if it works, but I have heard of people doing it 🤔 Could be worth a try 😊
