I seem to be missing a base string, but I have all of them. I’m doing the exact amount of knots on each string that I’m supposed to, but I seem to be missing a base string. What is going on??????

Without looking at your bracelet, if Im understanding the question correctly, is it possible that you have 25 base strings because the pattern says 25 strings when really its 24? It always counts your leading string I'm assuming. When I do alphas I always physically count the strings in the pattern because sometimes there's one extra to account for the leading string (again Im assuming) but either way I know sometimes its one extra than the amount of strings/knots in that row.

Why do you suspect to be missing a base string? Is your pattern getting smaller or are you making less knots?

where there is supposed to be a white knot, I don't have a string to do the white knot on and I have to skip over it and go right to the black knot

If your base strings are the same color as your leading string, it could be likely that you ended up knotting with one of your base strings without realizing it

Oh i did that once! If you have the same color base string as you do weaving string, you might have woven on a weaving string or made a row with a base string

Ugh, anyways.. Knot* onto a string that’s not supposed to be knotted onto. If that makes sense

Try and backtrack through the pattern you are making. I usually count how many knots I was supposed to make of a certain color on the alpha, and there's almost always one that is either missing or an extra of. 👍

I think you probably counted the leading string as a base string by accident and have counted 1 less
