I have a problem with alpha bracelets.whenever I try to make an alpha with more than 2 colors and warp method, if there is a set of rows with the same colors like in #21461 a gap appears between colors (in this case pink and purple and white in rows 12 to 16). any hints? ????????? |

Are you crossing over the previous string and knotting only on the string you want to be knotting on?

I don t quite get what you mean but if you look at the #21461 rows 12 to 16 the pink, white and purple colors repeat exactly the same each row so I have to knot the pink string for example on the same warp string again and again. this causes a gap between colors.🙁🙁🙁 |

I think I may understand. Have you tried, instead, to tie the next knot right after the gap taunt so there is no gap. Has this happened with any other bracelets?

yes it's happened with every other alpha pattern with the same issue (colors next to each other when there is no change in the color arrangement).to answer to your suggestion: I cant change the order of the colors. I normally use proper colors for the warp string according to the pattern so I would knot the warp on the theme string. but sometimes its not possible due to the pattern. |

Are all of your colored strings the same thickness? I found that a little bit can make a huge difference. Bracelets in which row after row are the same tend to have colors clump together, causing spacing. You could try doing one knot instead of two on the edges of the particular color, or use a slightly thinner thread in the inside section. It's so hard to explain. I'm afraid I can't put up a video to clarify right now, but if I were you, after looking at some of your work, I don't think you really need to do anything. It's irritating, yes, but it's not to the extent that it takes away from the bracelet. I hope that makes some sense.

I get what you mean by the difference between the thickness of the threads (which I sometimes even use to my beneficiary btw to make the pattern looks standing out of the theme) but its not the problem here I'm afraid. there is literally a gap between colors as they go back and forth on the same set of warp string(s) again and again and nothing connects them. I try to draw a sketch tomorrow and use it as my profile picture.thank you for your care and response. |

Now as you can see in my avatar the green line shows the gap I was talking about.(sorry for my awful sketch😛😛) |

Yeah I've had the same issue. I'm not sure what else you can do other than tie the transition exceptionally tight. I've found that at the very least reduces the problem. That's why I usually try to avoid straight vertical lines in my patterns.
