How do you measure how much string to use for a normal pattern? Because I always end up with too much string when I am finished.

Something you could try for your own records is the next time you cut your strings, measure and record them. Then, once you're finished with your bracelet, you measure the length left over. Subtract the two numbers and you know how much you should use for the SAME BRACELET next time.I've been meaning to try this the next time I make a "normal" bracelet. I also usually measure my strings too long - it's easier to cut them at the end than have to replace them in the middle of the bracelet. I hope this helps! Please let me know how it goes if you try it! ๐ |

Always add 2 inches extra though, so you always have enough to work with!

There's a formula in the forums somewhere that I made like two summers ago and you can actually figure it out but I generally just hold the string in one hand and the skein in another and pull straight across my body. Then I add more if I need it
