Hey everyone! This is a call for help lol. I don't really like the way my alphas always turn out. Does anyone have any suggestions? I use the flat alpha and straight edge techniques but there's something about my alphas that I don't like when I make them. Is it something that takes practice or is there tangible advice someone can offer? (you can go to my photos I've uploaded and look at the alphas I've made.) Thanks so much!

@baublesbyb I don’t know 😂 I just don’t like them. I guess in my opinion they’re not as neat as other people’s alphas.

Maybe try starting/ending your bracelets in different ways. For example, I like to end my keychains with a triangle end tied together with a square knot. make sure your tying the knots tight enough so that they all form together and make sure your checking on your bracelet throughout the process so you can see if its crooked or needs anything else! 🙂

@Moosey The same thing happened with me. I was also not satisfied with my alphas. To be honest I didn't tried something new I just kept trying to make more alphas and I don't know how it actually got very much better. So as per me you just keep practicing and it will improve. And yes I am still learning to make alphas 😄

After you make the bracelet, try cutting the strings that are on the back, that will make your alphas more straight.

I have heard that some people straighten their bracelets (with a flat iron/straightener) so if you are comparing them to others then maybe try that...and btw you alphas look A LOT better than mine 😂

Your alphas are really pretty and straighter htan mine ever could! Maybe try to enter new strings through the back rather than in the front?

Using a ruler or something with a straight edge usually helps me. I just slightly push each row back once I finish it. Also loose knots with the same tension helps me.

Your alphas are beautiful! Here are some tips that I have found helpful in alphas:- Use a ruler to straighten your rows. - Make sure to keep your knots nice and loose, and use the same brand of string. That way, they will start to take the square-like shape and tend to be a lot neater. - Make sure that you are extra careful around the edges, so they don't pop out when you start your pattern. The only thing I see are some loose knots. Maybe try to tie your knots tighter🤔
